LEWISBURG, Pa. --- Bucknell senior Russ Lindberg (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) was named the Patriot League's Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 18, 2001.

Lindberg led all Bucknell players at the prestigious Pepsi-Johnny Quik Classic at Fresno State University with a .458 batting average. After getting off to a slow start (0-7) to open the tournament, he hit .647 (11-17) over the last four games for the Orange and Blue. He hit his team-leading fifth home run of the season against the defending Big 10 Tournament Champion, Illinois, and was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles in Bucknell's 12-9 win over Navy.

The 6'4," 235-pound first baseman currently leads the team in average (.440), at-bats (50), runs scored (13), hits (22), home runs (5), RBIs (17) and slugging percentage (.800).

Bucknell is currently 7-6 overall and will begin a seven-game homestand with a game against Bloomsburg tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
