LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Bucknell men's track and field team recorded its highest Patriot League Indoor Championship finish since 2002 on Sunday afternoon, taking second with 138 points behind Navy in first with 188.5 points. The Orange and Blue topped third-place Army (108), fourth-place Colgate (55.5), fifth-place American (51), sixth-place Lafayette (39), seventh-place Lehigh (35) and eighth-place Holy Cross (5), as the three-day meet wrapped up at Gerhard Fieldhouse. Two Bison set school records and Bucknell took two event titles on Sunday.

"Our men rose to the occasion and competed well the entire meet," said Bucknell head coach Kevin Donner. "To finish second behind Navy and ahead of Army is a huge step in the right direction for our program."

Sophomore Timothy Medlock (Evan Mills, N.Y./Indian River) threw an IC4A-qualifying distance in the shot put for the eighth time this season to set a new school record in the event. He placed second with a career-best mark of 53-9 to top Erik Steiler's record of 52-8 ¼, set in 1995. Also scoring in the event was sophomore Jonathan Lockhart (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge). He placed sixth with a throw of 50-0, the seventh-best distance in program history.

Junior Kevin Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass./East Longmeadow) topped his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles, set in the prelim in Saturday (8.30), to finish third in the final with a new top-time of 8.29. Sophomore Andrew Yehl (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) also ran in the final, scoring for the Bison in fourth with a career-best time of 8.32, the second-fastest in school history.

Senior David Mante (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) took home the pole vault title, establishing a career-best IC4A-qualifying height of 16-3 ¼. His mark is the second-best in program history. Freshman Drew Fitzgerald (Ballston Spa, Pa./Ballston Spa) and sophomore Ryan White (Elkins Park, Pa./Father Judge) also scored in the pole vault. Fitzgerald took fifth with a mark of 14-3 ¼ and White notched a career-best mark of 14-3 ¼ for sixth place.

Bucknell swept the top-three places in the 400-meter dash. Junior Kerry Boyle (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) notched his second IC4A-qualifying time in the event this season, 48.52, to take first place. Freshman Guy Castranova (Trenton, N.J./Notre Dame) and MacLeod finished in second (49.21) and third (49.32), respectively.

In the triple jump, sophomore Kyle Anthony (Barryville, N.Y./Eldred Central) posted an IC4A mark for the third time this season to place second. He recorded a season-best distance of 49-1 in the event.

Senior Wallace Campbell (Montgomery, Ala./Montgomery Acad.) notched an IC4A-qualifying time for the second time this season in the 3,000-meter run. He finished in 8:20.28 to place third and score for the Bison.

Other top finishes for Bucknell included two Bison scoring in the final for the 200-meter dash. Boyle placed second with a time of 22.22 and MacLoed took fourth, finishing in 22.61. Freshman John Picardo (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton Central) established a career-best time of 1:06.09 in the 500-meter dash to place fifth and score for the Orange and Blue.
