Bucknell Men's Water Polo Doubles Up No. 13 Pacific, 10-5

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Bucknell men's water polo team outscored No. 13 Pacific 7-1 in the second half on its way to a 10-5 victory Saturday evening at the Navy Labor Day Open. The Bison, ranked 18th nationally, improved to 1-1 as it dropped an 11-7 decision earlier in the day to No. 2 California.

Jason Rechel (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and Kyle Roslyn (Philadelphia, Pa./William Penn Charter) led Bucknell with three goals apiece, and four others tallied one goal each. Rechel also added two assists to tie for team-high honors with Richie Hyden (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich).

Luke Belenky (Kensington, Md./German School) made six saves in goal for Bucknell, which ended a seven-game losing streak to ranked opponents. Belenky added three steals from his goalkeeper position.

The Bison trailed 4-3 at halftime, but piled on four goals in the third quarter and three more in the fourth as they picked up their first victory of the season.

The Bison will wrap up play at the Navy Labor Day Open on Sunday with an exhibition game with Northern Virginia at 8 a.m. and a 4:10 p.m. contest with Queens (N.Y.).
