At Bucknell: Lauren returns as a co-captain for her senior season. As a junior, she started in all but one game. Originally, a defensive midfielder, Lauren was moved back to our left back position and promptly established herself as one of the premier defenders in the Mideast Region, collecting 2nd Team Mideast Region All-American honors. She recorded 62 interceptions and 76 positive tackles as a junior, second highest on the team in each category. In addition to her defensive excellence, Lauren is the team’s primary penalty stroker and penalty corner striker. She recorded 6 goals, including one game-winner, and 2 assists for a total of 14 points in 2000. As a sophomore, Lauren started all 21 games recording one goal and one assist for a total of 3 points and registering 42 interceptions and 52 positive tackles. A tremendous athlete, Lauren saw action in 16 out of 18 games as a freshman. A member of the Dean’s List and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, Lauren was also named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Squad for 1999 and 2000.

Personal: Lauren, a graduate of Souderton High School, was an all-state swimmer and talented lacrosse player in high school. She is currently enrolled as Management major and studied abroad in Italy during her spring semester of her junior year.

According to Lewis: “Lauren is the team’s fiercest competitor and she will dictate our defensive mentality in 2001. Again, she’ll be one of the best defenders not only in our league but the entire region.”
