Kelly Hoffman

Player Profile

Class:
Senior

Hometown:
Boyertown, Pa.

High School:
Oley Valley

Position:
Midfielder

According to Head Coach Heather Lewis: "Without a doubt, as one of our team captains, Kelly will be the `engine' that drives this team by virtue of an impeccable work ethic and commitment to excellence. It has been my privilege to coach Kelly over the past three seasons as she continues to improve in every facet of her game. She is a fierce competitor who balances her tenacity with a genuine sense of caring for each of her teammates. I'm excited to watch Kelly in her final season--one I anticipate will be the pinnacle of her career here at Bucknell.

2006: A starter in all 17 games ... a second-team All-Patriot League performer ... scored two goals and assisted on two goals ... had the game-winning goal against St. Francis ... assisted the game-winning goal versus Robert Morris ... recorded 49 interceptions and 46 positive tackles ... one of the team's primary penalty strokers and penalty corner inserters ... was named a co-captain for her senior season in 2007 ... versatile enough to play forward or midfield ... spent considerable attention improving her shooting skills last spring ... named to the NFCHA All-Academic squad and Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

2005: Started in 13 of 16 contests, missing two games due to injury ... scored three goals for a total of six points ... had two game-winning goals - one against Saint Francis (Pa.) and the second a thriller in a double overtime victory against Lehigh ... recorded 34 interceptions and 27 positive tackles ... was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and NFHCA All-Academic Squad

2004: Saw action in 16 of 19 contests including 10 starts ... was sidelined for part of the fall season with injuries ... scored two goals and assisted on three others for a total of seven points ... played both forward line and midfield ... probably the team's most competitive athlete ... recorded 27 interceptions and 13 positive tackles ... named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and Patriot League Honor Roll

Personal: A member of Bucknell's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee ... graduated from Oley Valley High School and played for Donna Long ... was an All-State and National Athletic-Academic team selection in high school ... a psychology and English major ... daughter of Bryan & Marcia Hoffman
