BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sam Rollandi sprinted home from third base on a wild pitch by Ali Henry in the top of the 10th inning to score the only run in the game as the Bucknell softball team defeated Lafayette 1-0 in its first game at the Patriot League Tournament Thursday at Lehigh's Kaufman Field.

Third-seeded Bucknell (23-27), which won its seventh straight game, will now face No. 1 seeded Lehigh in the semifinals of the double-elimination tournament Friday at 11 a.m. Second-seeded Lafayette (24-23) will face No. 4 Army in an elimination game at 1:30 p.m.

Rollandi pinch hit for Cassie Lloyd in the top of the 10th inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kristin Frick. She then moved to third on a ground out by Jessie Snyder and scored when Henry unleashed a wild pitch. It was the only run in the game that was the longest of the year for the Bison.

Christie Wiest, who carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning and extended her scoreless innings streak to 24.2 innings, allowed just five hits and registered her fifth shutout of the season. The Leopards' best chance to score came in the sixth when they had runners on second and third with one out, but Wiest coaxed them into a pair of groundouts. Wiest finished with seven strikeouts to push her season total to 103.

Friday's Bucknell-Lehigh game will be broadcast on SportsJuice.com. First pitch for the game is 11 a.m. with coverage beginning approximately 15 minutes earlier.

Henry was just as effective as she allowed eight hits and struck out 10 in her 10.0 innings of work.

Lauren Fry and Snyder each had two hits in the contest for Bucknell as freshmen accounted for six of the team's eight hits.

Christina Giambrone registered a pair of hits to lead the Leopards at the plate.

Bucknell won its first game at the Patriot League Tournament for the second straight time. The Bison defeated top-seeded Lehigh in their first game in 2005.
